As tax season is approaching, we wanted to reach out about some important details regarding personal tax returns.
Deadlines
As of today there are currently no extensions to any filing or payment deadlines for taxes as there were in 2020 due to COVID-19. Please click here for a listing of all income tax filing and payment deadlines for the 2020 tax year. For individuals, both income tax filing and payments are once again due on April 30th of this year. For self-employed individuals, income tax filings are again due on June 15th, with income tax payments again being due on April 30th.
COVID-19 Safety Protocols:
Our door will be locked in order to control the number of people in our reception area at one time, to allow for proper social distancing.
Please ring the buzzer at the door once you arrive. The door will be opened for you if or when we are not at the maximum number of people in our reception area. We will communicate any delays to you.
Please ensure you are wearing a mask prior to entry.
Upon entry, please use the hand sanitizer station and answer the list of questions related to COVID-19 symptoms and exposure risk.
Submission of Personal Tax Information
Considering these COVID-19 Safety Protocols, your documents for your personal taxes can be submitted in the following ways:
Through our secure online portal. Please click here to open our portal, where you can simply drag and drop your files, and then click the upload button to submit. Please note that you will need to enter your name and email address in order to upload files. This is so that we know whose files have been uploaded, and so we can follow up with you directly upon completion of your tax return.
Through the mail slot in the door at our office.
While our current preference is that people submit their documents electronically using the submission link, and that meetings are also done through video conferencing, we do recognize that some people need to have a personal meeting at our office. We are present at the office and can make arrangements to accommodate in person meetings where required.
